Veiled Chameleons for sale at Outback Reptiles
Veiled chameleons, also known as Yemen chameleons, are a popular species of chameleon in the pet trade. They are native to the mountainous regions of Yemen and Saudi Arabia and are known for their striking coloration and ability to change color based on their mood and environment. Male veiled chameleons can reach up to two feet in length and have a distinctive casque, or helmet-like structure, on their heads. These chameleons are arboreal and require a tall enclosure with plenty of climbing branches and foliage to simulate their natural habitat. Veiled chameleons are primarily insectivores and should be fed a varied diet of gut-loaded insects, such as crickets and mealworms, as well as occasional small amounts of fruits and vegetables. They require specific environmental conditions, including high humidity, UVB lighting, and a basking spot with a temperature range of 90-95°F, and may not be suitable for first-time reptile owners.
